Description

The Elizabethan Navy Royal warship Revenge was built at Deptford and launched in 1577.

Revenge was a new type of warship, a ‘Race Built Galleon’. She was built following the direction of Sir John Hawkins and supervised, it is thought, by the master shipwright, Matthew Baker. Revenge was about 500 tonnes and carried a crew of around 250 men. Contrary to popular belief, the new race built galleons were not dwarfed by the Spanish galleons, but were on equal and sometimes larger size. It is very easy to see the lines of Revenge as a pre-curser to the Prince Royal of 1610, the Sovereign of the seas of 1637, even the Prince of 1670.

The instructions are really clear, and the materials are great quality - worth the price.

La prima impressione è più che buona
Ottima progettazione (probabilmente fatta in 3D visto la precisione). Ottime le soluzioni tecniche per garantire facilmente precisione di zone critiche ( es.:fissaggio degli alberi, fori dei sabordi già pretagliati sulle sagome 52, 53, 54, ecc.) Molto buona la documentazione (tavole tecniche e istruzioni fotografiche), buona la distinta base. Il noce africano dei sabordi un po\' fragile. Listelli di tiglio del primo fasciame scadenti: si sfogliano, però non è un problema insormontabile. Nella costruzione sono arrivato fino a qua, quindi non ho riferimenti precisi per il resto, che però mi sembra più che buono. Ottima la scelta di aver inserito nel modello anche le vele.

Fantastic kit, great plans and instructions, makes a beautiful ship. Only issue was the instructions called for 5mm 2nd planking but 4mm 2nd planking was in the kit. But not a big problem. Plenty of strip wood supplied.

In una parola un kit spettacolare. Pezzi perfettamente tagliati. Bellissima dotazione. Istruzioni eccellenti. Unico neo un po\' fragiline le ordinate in MDF.
