Description

Apart from Columbus's own logbooks, Spanish literature gives few details about the two caravels that accompanied the Santa Maria on its Atlantic voyage.

Originally, Niña and Pinta were lateen rigged caravels.
It is known they belonged to the Pinzon brothers who took part in the historic voyage as captains.
On reaching the Canaries, Pinta was fitted out as a square rigger.
This operation required replacement of the mast and led to a four week delay.
Christopher Columbus always referred to his flagship as "Nao", and the other two simply as "the caravels".

Mi sto avvicinando adesso al mondo del modellismo navale:la mia esperienza era relativa al montaggio di modelli della Corel (devo dire con qualche difficolta\' visto le istruzioni per il montaggio). Volendo montare qualcosa di piu\' interessante ho scoperto il modello della Pinta della Amati. Tutta un\'altra cosa !!! Facilita\' di montaggio,istruzioni esaurienti e modello molto particolareggiato: veramente soddisfatto del prodotto, continuero\' senz\'altro con i modelli di Amati

Nice model. \r\nI am not an experienced modeler but this model looks to have good materials, well finished. \r\nThe instructions could be a bit more clear. \r\nGenerally is a good product which provides long hours of pleasure.
